The Becoming

These are the proudest pieces from my first year—the ones that made me realize what I was actually capable of. I was nervous to share my work at first, but the fear of criticism slowly faded into a quiet, creative confidence. And pretty quickly I understood: my crochet isn’t just a craft, it’s a vibe—nostalgic-but-practical silhouettes, durable materials, and thoughtful details with intentional finishes.

After spending my entire adult life as a hospitality professional, it felt natural to take the designs one step further and give the whimsy some real-world function. The less glamorous (but very important) stuff—waterproofing treatment, saddle stitching, and free lifetime maintenance—was baked in from the beginning, because I want these bags to be as dependable as they are cute.

If anything, I want them to carry the energy of that quote: “I don’t want to be strong like a man. I want to be strong like bitches who fight bears in the forest.”
